Happykids Kindergarten Classrooms Rules

1、Each child is free to work with any material displayed in the environment so long as they use it respectfully. They may not harm the material, themselves, or others.


 


2、Children may work on either a rug/mat or table whichever is suitable to the work chosen. Children do not work at or on display shelves, as their presence there would obstruct the other children’s access to materials.



3、Children restore the environment during and after an exercise. They put their own rug away after rolling it neatly away. If they have been working at a table, they push their chairs under its place at the table.



4、No child interferes with another’s activity. This provides security for the child an exercise is protected by this ground rule.


 

5、Children are not forced into joining a group activity. It is their right to keep working at individual exercises during group activity without becoming an active participant. A child is not allowed to interfere or disrupt an activity in which she/he has chosen not participant.


 

6、A child is not forced or even encouraged to share with another child an exercise that he/she has chosen to work with by him/herself. Generosity develops from with achild as he/she matures and gains self-security. If materials are adequate andground rules are affective, sharing will come naturally, in case where sharing is appropriate and necessary.

A child is free to “do nothing” if desired, as long as he/she does not disturb the activities of others. He/she may be learning by observing others working, or may be thinking, or simply relaxing.
