not for the past, not for the present, but for the future. - Yuanpei Cai

What's Happykids Kindergarten like on weekends? Although there was no laughter from the students, it was still very lively, because besides the students, there was another group of people who also spent the weekend learning and improving themselves.

Happykids IB - PYP has long been a candidate school of high standards and strict on teachers' professional qualities. A long-term plan for teachers' professional development, adhering to the IB education outlook for the "lifelong learners" concept. We make learning communities, Happykids invited an IB workshop leader Tracie to the kindergarten for two days of training - IB school C3: Play -based Learning.

Tracie use a game of "Let's date" to start the workshop.  Tracie explained the significance of this part for us. It helps us to get to know different peers and try to interact, communicate and cooperate with more people. This can not only help teachers, but also become a tool to help students to get to know more peers and cooperate with others. Teacher training is like students in a classroom exploring, diligent in thinking, dare to try and engage everywhere. PYP teachers around: how to let students learn while playing? "How can playschool be designed?" "What is the role of the teacher when kids are inquiry?" "What is the difference between play and inquiry?" "What is the constructivist teaching view?" And so on... interested in the question of thinking, discussion. Tracie, the IB workshop leader, also followed the teachers' interests and doubts. Analyzed them layer by layer, helped the teachers to break down the difficulties one by one, and explored the possibility of various answers together with the teachers. Just as the teachers usually lead the students to explore.

Tracie also talked about the concept of "harmony without uniformity". We are inspired and influenced by different cultures and backgrounds, but we can be different.

In the training, we read the theory of "play-based-learning". Tracie explained the practical forms and design characteristics of play-based-learning. She also covered the different feedbacks to students through pictures and videos. The teachers shared and communicated what they saw. We found common ground while reserving differences. We agreed with each other on the highly praised points and learned from each other in different points of view.

Happykidss teachers worked in groups to discuss the difference between play and inquiry, and used Venn diagrams to record and share the meaning of the division. Tracie teacher again using an example, data analysis and other ways to solve the teachers indifferences. This in turn helps all the teachers to further deepen understanding, on this basis. Tracie teacher extended the contract of advantage and help to students. Teachers share the unit planning and how to use the unit plan is more conducive to learning.

Tracie also helps teachers to clarify their position as teachers through the constructivist view of learning and teaching. Learning is a process in which students construct knowledge by themselves. Students do not simply passively accept information, but actively construct knowledge so as to form their own understanding and application skills. Teaching should not ignore the existing knowledge and experience of learners, nor simply "fill in" the knowledge form outside. Instead, it should take the original knowledge and experience of learners as the growth point of new knowledge, and guide learners to actively construct new knowledge and experience from the original knowledge and experience. Teaching is not the transfer of knowledge, but the processing and conversion of knowledge.

The two-day IB training came to a happy conclusion. The teachers gained a lot and felt that it was a very meaningful and beneficial learning and useful communication experience. A forward-looking thinking with realistic significance. The teachers are eager to apply what they feel and gain from the training into teaching, so that the students can master more exploration methods. To achieve the ten learner profiles, learn in play and grow with happiness.
